The eleventh edition of this non-stop marathon of female photographers and DJs starts at 8pm on Saturday, March 9th, at the MACRO ASILO in Rome. The event is organized by Female Cut, an association that promotes talented women in Italy in the name of art and creativity (musicians, artists, designers, activists, dreamers, illustrators, stylists, photographers, mothers, managers, curators and experts in communication), and by Officine Fotografiche, an organisation that promotes photography and is known for FotoLeggendo, an annual event of great national artistic importance. Female in March will engage you for its power, suggestions, and divertissement.
For eleven years at the service of 8 March, a historic women’s day, this year the show will be dedicated to music and female photography: over 50 of the most representative DJs and Roman artists alternate in a relay of music, art and non-stop video. A unique appointment to give voice to women through new languages of a thousand artistic nuances, to celebrate together the talent and creativity of the female world, in a context that represents innovation in the artistic and cultural field of the capital.
The experimental project Macro Asilo opened very recently (September 2018), and will last only until December 31st, 2019. The new device designed by Giorgio de Finis, curator of the project, transforms the entire museum into a real living organism, “hospitable” and relational, inviting people, knowledge and disciplines to meet and collaborate in a logic of constant openness and participation (in fact, entry is free for everyone). This is the first tassel in the Contemporary and Future Pole that will be configured as a complementary presence to other institutions such as MAXXI and Galleria Nazionale, which are not to be missed.
Meanwhile, in the bohemian district par excellence of the capital, from the first of March, in Piazza dell’Immacolata, you can experience an unusual journey through Banksy in 3 public artworks. The 3 works will be free and open forever, up until their natural death.
